I began art classes at the I. Repin Academy of Art in Saint Petersburg, Russia. These classes laid the foundation for developing taste and understanding of classical beauty. Great experiences were working in art studios of accomplished professionals and masters of oil, industrial design, and fine jewelry production. Being a student for some time at the Corcoran Academy of Art in Washington, D.C. was a step toward cultivating contemporary art production. Meeting a particular accomplished artist and teacher helped me learn and develop an alla- pPrima oil technique. My study in the Torpedo Factory and Yellow Barn Studio allowed me to meet watercolor masters who guided my discovery of watercolors techniques and ideas for further research.
All my interest in the arts is a result of a lifelong relationship with arts established in childhood. The arts are my passion and my escape.
See examples of graphic design illustrations represented on my websites http://Oksana.org and http://ShemetDesign.com. Work performed for User Interface design projects and for On-line mutiple trainings for differnet agencies.
I currently design user interface projects and on-line training programs for multiple agencies. By working for different organizations including video production for television, multi-page heavy user web development, I have expanded my understanding of user experiences, graphic needs, and technical implementations within different fields.
My bachelor’s degree is in apparel design and production. Through this I developed my interest in illustrating fashion. Work in the Torpedo Factory with one particular fashion designer inspired me to continue work on fashion illustration.
